POSITION: Assistant Coach of Esports (PT)
Effective immediately: (PT) Assistant Coach of Esports, Student Life Department, Wilmington University
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree is required. Must have excellent communication, customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills. Must be detail oriented and able to work with diverse populations. Must be self-directed and able to make decisions independently. Must have the ability to multi-task, work independently as well as be creative and innovative. Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel and familiarity with other Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of competition and safety rules. Must represent the University in a professional manner at all times as well as have the ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in any situation. Must have a computer capable of running the aforementioned Esports.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Assist the head coach in recruiting efforts, including evaluating and contacting prospective student-athletes, and completing compliance logs in a timely manner.
• Assist the head coach in the scouting of future opponents.
• Provide instruction of team members, including the preparation, planning and conducting of practice sessions.
• Communicate with the Discord communication platform.
• Assist with setting up scrimmages with other local Universities and their teams.
• Be knowledgeable of and work within the Wilmington University and the Esports Leagues (cLoL, TESPA, NACE, etc).
• Teach student-athlete’s specific tasks, while serving as a mentor to team members.
• Assist head coach in supervision of team travel.
• Must have knowledge of League of Legends, Rocket League, and Overwatch.
• Promote and foster an inclusive and diverse environment for all students, faculty, and staff.
• Perform other duties, which may be assigned by the Head Coach and/or the Director of Student Life.
Hours of Employment: Primarily evening hours, however, the incumbent must be flexible enough with their hours to meet the needs of the department and the University. Some weekends and travel may be required.

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
