Job Summary

Primary Responsibilities

Coaching & Player Development

• Coach, develop, and evaluate all offensive linemen with an emphasis on technique, fundamentals, toughness, and discipline
• Design and implement individual and group drills focused on run blocking, pass protection, footwork, leverage, and hand placement
• Coordinate the run game, including scheme development, weekly game planning, and in-game adjustments
• Collaborate with the Offensive Coordinator on offensive philosophy, personnel usage, and play-calling structure
• Prepare and execute detailed practice plans and meeting agendas for the offensive line unit
• Break down opponent film and provide scouting reports relevant to run game and protection schemes

Recruiting & Roster Management

• Recruit high-quality prospective student-athletes in compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations
• Evaluate offensive line prospects through film, camps, combines, and in-person evaluations
• Build and maintain recruiting relationships with high school, junior college, and transfer portal prospects
• Assist with roster management, retention, and academic progress of student-athletes

Game-Day Responsibilities

• Coach assigned position group during games
• Communicate with the offensive staff and Head Coach on in-game run game and protection adjustments
• Contribute to special teams planning and execution as assigned

Program Administration

• Support academic success, leadership development, and personal growth of student-athletes
• Assist with compliance documentation, recruiting logs, and required administrative duties
• Participate in fundraising, alumni engagement, community outreach, and program promotional activities
• Uphold and promote the values, culture, and standards of Chicago State University and its football program

Job Description

Chicago State University seeks a highly motivated and experienced Offensive Line Coach / Run Game Coordinator to join its football coaching staff. This position is responsible for leading the development of the offensive line unit, coordinating the run game, and contributing to the overall offensive philosophy and game planning. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to student-athlete development, competitive excellence, and the mission and values of Chicago State University.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Offensive line coaching experience at the collegiate level (FCS, FBS, or equivalent)
• Demonstrated knowledge of modern run game concepts and pass protection schemes
• Strong teaching, communication, and organizational skills
• Proven ability to recruit and develop offensive linemen
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience coordinating a run game at the collegiate level
• Recruiting experience within the Midwest and/or urban recruiting territories
• Experience coaching within an FCS, FBS, (DIV II, III) football program
• Master’s degree or advanced coaching certifications
• Experience with multiple offensive systems (gap, zone, RPO-based run game concepts)

• Strong film evaluation and game-planning skills
• Ability to build relationships with student-athletes, staff, and campus stakeholders
