Job Summary

The primary functions of this position are to serve as an assistant coach for the women's basketball program with responsibilities in operations of the program which include management in areas of team travel, video exchange/management, student manager supervision and practice and game preparation. This position will be an on-court coach and recruit perspective student-athletes to the program.

• Work with several support areas of the Athletics department to best provide for the student-athletes and coaches of the program.

• Act under the supervision of the Head Women's Basketball Coach to administer specific areas of responsibility for the program in accordance with the skill sets of the women's basketball staff, including:

  • Scheduling and yearly calendar
  • Oversee and coordinate travel
  • Serve as liaison with Athletic Facilities and Athletics business office.
  • Oversee and coordinate equipment needs with Head Athletics Equipment Manager including monitoring budget and inventory.

• Recruit potential student-athletes to the University including identification and communication.

  • Assist in planning and scheduling itineraries for unofficial/official visits
  • Evaluate and travel during year to high school games and AAU tournaments
  • Assist in creating recruiting material
  • Conduct data entry for coaches after recruiting periods.

• Manage game tapes, film exchange with other schools, breakdown of film for coaching purposes, and aid in game strategy and practice preparations.

• Participate in on-court activities including, individual player development, direct scout team and lead activities/drills as assigned.

• Lead individual coaching on and off court with players during film sessions, games and practices to enhance the abilities of the student-athletes.

• Serve as representative of program at Basketball Event Operations meetings and on internal committees and projects.

• Administrative duties for the position, including:

  • NCAA or CAA requests for information or documentation.
  • Coordination of staff or program schedules.
  • Correspondence with Alumni and friends of Drexel Athletics and Women's Basketball.

• Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Deputy Director of Athletics.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience coaching and/or basketball operations at the colleagiate level.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience of basketball recruiting at the collegiate level.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

• Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
