The Athletics Department at Whittier College is seeking an Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator, Men’s and Women’s Track and Field.

Whittier is an NCAA Division III institution that is a conference member of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) and has an enrollment of 1150 students and sponsors a total of 18 varsity sports.

Hours: Varies
Exempt Status: Non-Exempt
Full Time/Part Time status: Full Time
Salary Range: $25.50 per hour; Salary will commensurate with experience, skills, and knowledge.

This position will assist the Head Coach for Men’s & Women’s Track and Field in all areas, including:

• Recruiting
• Student-athlete development
• Practice and meet day coaching
• Team transportation and driving
• Meet management
• Administrative office duties
• Other duties as assigned by Head Coach or Executive Director of Athletics

Position Specifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree and collegiate competing or coaching experience required.
• Preference will be given to candidates with jumps, throws and multi event experience.
• Successful candidate will be self-motivated and will have demonstrated ability as a very strong recruiter.
• Successful candidate will maintain a strong commitment to the academic achievement of student athletes in a diverse student population.
• Knowledge and commitment to SCIAC and NCAA Division III policies and strong interpersonal skills are necessary.
