Reporting to the Head Coach of Sailing, the Assistant Coach assists the Head Coach in all aspects of the Coed & Women’s Sailing Programs. This position may require evening and weekend work hours.
Assists the Head Coach in all aspects of the Coed and Women’s Sailing Programs.
Conducts on-the-water coaching and aids in the development of student-athletes.
Supports recruiting efforts to attract top sailors to the University.
Assists with the maintenance of team assets, specifically the fleets of FJs and 420Es.
Coordinates with the Sailing Team Executive Board regarding engagement and fundraising activities.
Performs administrative duties to support the program.

Bachelor’s Degree.
Minimum of 1 year of coaching experience with a competitive club, high school or collegiate program.
Ability to recruit academically qualified and athletically talented student-athletes to Fordham.
Ability to communicate effectively and foster positive relations with student-athletes and members of the Fordham community, including faculty, staff, donors, alumni, and parents.
Strong sport-specific technical, tactical, and strategic knowledge.
Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment.
Basic proficiency in excel, word, & email capabilities.
Valid US driver’s license and ability to travel.
Social media experience.
Prior experience with video editing software.
Prior collegiate coaching & recruiting experience (and/or a combination of coaching & competitive sailing experience).
Competitive collegiate and/or international sailing experience.
Substantial dinghy racing and team racing experience.
US Sailing Level I Certification, Level 2 Certification.
Experience and strong knowledge base in collegiate-style fleet racing and team racing.
