Location: Lisle Campus
Position Summary: The Athletics Department at Benedictine University seeks an assistant coach for women's soccer. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the Head Coach in all aspects of coaching, practice preparation, game preparation, strategy, recruitment of prospective student-athletes, strength training and scheduling in support of the women's soccer program. Adherence to NCAA Division III rules and regulations, supporting the philosophy, goals and mission of the college and its intercollegiate athletics program, as well as adherence to departmental, university, NACC and NCAA policies and procedures required.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Assist in the planning, organization and administration of practice.
Assist in game preparation and implementation of game day strategies.
Assist with recruiting qualified prospective student-athletes to the program.
Assist in academic support for women's soccer student-athletes.
Assist with strength and conditioning workouts for student-athletes during the academic year and summer preparation.
Other Functions:
Develop relationships within and positively promote Benedictine University and its surrounding community.
Attend departmental and University related meetings and events as directed.
Represent the Department of Athletics with sportsmanship, integrity and high degree of professionalism.
Maintain a positive student athlete assessment for program from student-athletes.
Maintain positive relationships with alumni, parents, students, officials, volunteers and fans.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Associate’s Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
Experience: Previous coaching experience required, Goalkeeper experience preferred
Specific Skills: Knowledge of NCAA Division III philosophy, recruitment, rules and regulations
Specific Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications: Yes Organizational skills, interpersonal skills and supervisory skills. Valid driver's license required.
Physical Requirements: Ability to handle varying levels of stress while maintaining professional demeanor. Possible lifting, bending, walking, kneeling, stretching, and stooping. Frequent district-wide and statewide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours; outdoor exposure to sun/heat or cold weather. Ability to speak clearly so listeners can understand. Understand the speech of another person. See details of objects that are less than a few feet away or are more than a few feet away. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. General Customer service and office environment.

Travel (If applicable): Yes, Must be available and able to drive to away games.
Supervisory Responsibility (if applicable): No
Working Conditions: Office environment. Outdoor environment. Nights and weekends required.
Training: As a University employee you are required to complete all University-specific and/or OSHA related training to fulfill your job duties. Specific training will be conducted online or in person. Employees must complete all trainings required by Benedictine University.
