Softball Assistant Coach

The Fairfield University Softball program seeks an Assistant Coach. The assistant will aid with planning, organizing and the management of the softball program.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree

• Knowledge of and committed to following Fairfield University, NCAA and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference rules and guidelines.

• Collegiate softball playing and/or coaching experience.

• Must be a highly motivated, self-starter with a strong work ethic

• Must possess high attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)

• Social Media Marketing experience

• Pitching playing/coaching experience (not required)

Reports to : Head Softball Coach

Essential Functions :

• Serves a full-time coach for the softball program.

• Participate in the planning, organizing, and execution of non-traditional and traditional softball practices.

• Be present at home and road competitions.

• Provide administrative support with travel related budget management including hotels, buses, meals and expense reports.

• Provide administrative support with purchasing and account payable tasks.

• Submit compliance reports.

• Assist the head coach in all aspects of recruiting, including evaluating high performance student athletes for roster consideration.

• Assist with equipment and apparel ordering and inventory.

• Other duties assigned by the head coach including camps and clinics

This position is based at Fairfield University’s Fairfield, CT campus and is not eligible for immigration assistance.
