The primary responsibilities are to implement and supervise the development of pitchers and catchers and gameday strategies.
Apply NowEssential Functions and Responsibilities
Identify, evaluate, and recruit qualified prospective student-athletes.
Assist with on-field coaching, training, and skill development - experience with pitching is preferred.
Assist the head coach to build a cohesive and competitive program.
Scout opponents and prepare scouting reports.
Organize and supervise strength and conditioning program for student-athletes.
Assist with organization and running of camps, tournaments, and showcases.
Monitoring academic success and progress towards graduation for all student-athletes involved in the program. Provide each student-athlete with the resources and leadership to develop to their full potential; develop quality student-athletes within a successful program while maintaining the highest level of integrity and professionalism.
As a part of the job responsibilities associated with this position, knowledge of rules and regulations set forth by the NCAA and conference should be maintained, reviewed and practiced to ensure compliance relative to those applicable duties.
Management of equipment and uniforms including coordinating of orders through BSN.
Other relevant duties as assigned.
Regular and predictable attendance is required.
On-site work is required.
Incumbents must remain relevant in the area of employment and flexible to changes in work related to institutional needs.
Typical Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree
Experience in coaching, including direct experience with patching, catching, and outfield. Demonstrated commitment to developing student-athletes in the softball program by building relationships that encourage them academically, socially, and athletically.
Licenses and Certification
Valid Georgia Driver’s License (or obtained within 30 days of hire date) and satisfactory MVR.

Environmental, Physical, and Visual Acuity Factors
Incumbents are subject working in both internal and external working conditions where they will be subject to exposure to extreme heat or temperatures above 100 degrees.
Incumbents will perform a medium level of work where they may exert up to 50lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs of force frequently, and up to 10lbs of force constantly. Incumbents must have close visual acuity to operate motor vehicles.
