Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Sports Performance, the Assistant Coach, Sports Performance and Nutrition, will develop and manage effective individual and team sports performance programs for student-athletes participating in FLC’s NCAA Division II intercollegiate athletic program.

• Develop sport-specific, comprehensive training programs that are scientifically based, and involves periodized / cycled regimens of exercises and drills to optimize strength, power, flexibility, mobility, agility, speed, and/or work capacity designed to enhance sports performance and decrease the incidence of non-contact injuries.
• Oversee specific teams as assigned by the Director of Sports Performance.
• Demonstrate and implement safe, effective, and proven exercise techniques at each training session and deliver programs in an organized manner using the field’s best practices.
• Oversee nutrition education for teams working with Mercy Regional Medical Center and food service provider.
  
• Coordinate the Grub Hub nutritional service with campus, teams, and student-athletes.
• Adhere to all FLC, RMAC, and NCAA guidelines and provide student-athletes with an exceptional collegiate experience while competing for championships.
  
• Employ effective communication skills to establish relationships and conduct work at a high level with a wide range of constituents (coaches, student-athletes, administrators, etc.).
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field
• One or more years relevant experience in Sports Performance (Graduate Assistantships can count toward experience)
• CSCS (NSCA) or SCCC (CSCCA) Certification
• CPR/AED Certification or ability to obtain prior to employment.
• Able to lift items / weights 50lbs or more throughout each day.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in health & Human Performance or related field
• Experience as a Sports Performance coach at the collegiate level
• Teambuildr and Velocity-Based Training experience
• USAW Certification

Compensation

The salary for this NCAA grant-funded position is $30,000, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
