Essential Duties

• Responsible for the design and supervision of sports performance progress of Women’s Basketball based on their competitive year and in conjunction with the program Head Coach or liaison. May assist with sports performance progress for additional sports as assigned by the Head Sports Performance Coach for Olympic Sports.
• Responsible for all aspects of women’s basketball strength and conditioning training as well as any additional needs during practice, games, and travel.
• Assists in coordinating and scheduling of use of sports performance facilities by team and individual student athletes as assigned by the Head Sports Performance Coach for Olympic Sports.
• Collaborates with ASU Sports Nutritionist as well as the Men’s Basketball Athletic Trainer regarding team and individual needs.
• Assists in the maintenance of sports performance equipment including cleaning and repair as assigned by Head Sports Performance Coach for Olympic Sports.
• Assists in the administering of tests that determine the fitness level of varsity student athletes and maintains records of their progress.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Head Sports Performance Coach for Olympic Sports.
• Participates in regularly scheduled meetings with Head Sports Performance Coach for Olympic Sports.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years prior coaching experience at the college/university, Elite club, or Professional level; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications

• Evidence of a Bachelor's degree in physical education, exercise science, kinesiology, sports science, education, or related field.
• Previous strength and conditioning coaching experience with basketball at the university and/or professional/NBA level (2 years).
• Demonstrated knowledge of strength and conditioning-related technology.
• Demonstrated knowledge of sound nutritional and recovery principles and practices.
• Evidence of effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience in interacting effectively with coaches, student-athletes, and administrators.
• Experience in planning, organizing and prioritizing.
• Experience in problem-solving and decision-making.
• Experience in working independently and effectively to complete assignments with competing deadlines and priorities.
• Evidence of a CSCS or SCCC certification required.

Working Environment

• Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse.
• Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
• Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds.
• Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
• Clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
• Schedule is to be decided; must have flexible schedule correlated with the assigned sport’s practice and game schedules; may include early mornings, evenings and weekends.
• May be required to travel to away games with the team.
• Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals.
• Regular use of standard weight training equipment.
