Faculty and staff members are expected to be physically present on campus as needed to support the in-person educational experience and on-campus vitality at the University of West Georgia. Depending upon teaching assignments and student demand, this could include the Carrollton or Newnan campuses.
This position serves as assistant to the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Assisting with training for sixteen NCAA Division I intercollegiate sports. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, assisting Head Strength and Conditioning Coach with development, administration, implementation, scheduling, and supervision of facilities and programs for assigned intercollegiate sports.

Develops strength and conditioning programs for male and female student-athletes with review from the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Supervises and coordinates strength and conditioning programs for men's and women's sports as assigned. Performs strength testing and evaluation as assigned. Demonstrates and teaches proper techniques and skills. Oversees strength and conditioning programs which elicit safe and correct execution of exercise technique.

Effectively communicates with athletic trainers and coaches on exercise protocol; - Promotes the Sports Performance program during the recruitment of prospective student-athletes and for external constituents, as needed.

Responsible for adhering to all Department and University policies and procedures, as well as the rules, regulations, bylaws and interpretations of the ASUN Conference and the NCAA. Responsible for adhering to all Department and University continuing education initiatives and required certifications and trainings.

Previous experience working with both male and female student-athletes. Experience in developing and coordinating programs for rehabilitation, and different sport programs. USA Weightlifting certification (USAW), Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) OR Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). First Aid, CPR, and AED Certified

Minimum of two years collegiate strength and conditioning experience, working with multiple teams and disciplines.
$40,796 - $44,507 annually. Paid on a monthly basis.
ABILITIES
The ability to work independently and able to work effectively with diverse groups of student-athletes and coaches. Experience in developing and coordinating programs for rehabilitation, and different sport programs.
KNOWLEDGE
Preferred knowledge in all areas of strength training as well as speed, agility, plyometric, flexibility and cardiovascular training as well as the ability to teach and supervise Olympic lifts. This position will supervise student-athletes while they complete heavy lifts and other activities, failure to instruct/recommend the correct lift techniques will potentially lead to severe injury for the student.

Physical Requirements: Lifting ' up to 20lbs or greater Office Environment - Work normally performed in a typical interior work environment. Outdoor Environment - Work outdoors and may not be protected from weather conditions.
