Chapman University is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.

| Job Description Summary |
The Assistant Coach for men’s and women’s swim & dive will work both independently and collaboratively to perform essential duties and responsibilities in all facets of the program, including but not limited to: training, practicing, recruiting, travel logistics, scholar-athlete development, and compliance. As well as all other administrative duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head Coach. This position also has additional responsibilities within Chapman University Athletics regarding game management. All other duties as assigned.

| Responsibilities |
Serve as the assistant coach to the men’s and women’s swim & dive program (65%)
Provides support to assigned athletic teams and/or campus operations (30%)

| Required Qualifications |
- Bachelors Degree.
- Current CPR certification.
- Knowledge of NCAA Division III and SCIAC compliance rules, with the ability to interpret and apply all relevant rules and regulations.
- Sensitivity to understand student-athletes challenges and needs.
- Commitment to the academic success of student-athletes and the ability to persuasively articulate the role of athletics in education.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities.
- Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people of diverse background.

- Basic knowledge of recruiting and coaching techniques.
