Essential Job Functions:
Stanford University is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Track and Field Coach specializing in assisting with the sprints including both hurdle events and relays. This is a twelve-month, full-time, full-benefited position that reports to the Director of Track and Field. You will be directly responsible for administering and/or assisting with the Director in all areas related to the success of the Track and Field program within the Division I intercollegiate program and the policies established by the NCAA, ACC and Stanford University. This is a one-year fixed term contract.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience coaching men’s and women’s sprints at the college/university level.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all areas of sprinting is required.
  • Demonstrated passion for coaching and developing student-athletes.
  • Ability to assess, identify, and recruit top student-athletes to compete at Stanford.
  • Ability to coordinate team travel logistics for practices and competitions.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, teaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • A history of acting in a manner that is based on integrity.
  • Ability to (1) respond quickly and effectively to changing trends and circumstances; (2) embrace change and welcome new perspectives; (3) learn from past mistakes.
  • Knowledge of the technical aspects of sprinting is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree is required.
