The Assistant Volleyball Coach is a full-time, 12-month, position responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operation of the Volleyball Program. The Assistant Volleyball Coach provides effective leadership, recruitment, coaching and monitoring of student-athletes to encourage successful academic and team performance.
In collaboration with the Head Volleyball Coach, the Assistant Volleyball Coach will be charged with assisting the UMBC Volleyball Team, and is expected to identify, evaluate and recruit student-athletes that can be successful athletically, academically and socially in a Division I environment.

has over 4 weeks of vacation for regular full time roles. Tuition remission is also available.

Specific duties include: player development (practice planning and skill instruction, game management, attention to academics and commitment to community service); recruiting; assisting with administrative responsibilities (scheduling, team travel and balancing the budget); cultivating relationships with alumni; working with Athletics Department staff on fundraising, special events and appearances; and performing other duties as assigned. It is expected that the successful candidate will abide by all written policies and procedures of the Department of Athletics, UMBC, the America East Conference (AEC) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university and one year of coaching experience.
• Three years of coaching experience at the collegiate level.
• Playing experience at the collegiate level preferred.
• Individuals with knowledge or understanding of mid-major universities are highly desired.
