South Dakota State University (SDSU) is an NCAA Division I institution located in Brookings, South Dakota. SDSU competes in The Summit League for all sports except Football (Missouri Valley Football Conference), Wrestling (Big XII Conference), and Equestrian (National Collegiate Equestrian Association). RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will serve as the Assistant Volleyball Coach who will assist with maintaining a competitive Division I volleyball program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: recruitment of prospective student-athletes; development of the team/players by coaching and monitoring academic performance; and building positive social skills. This position will also perform administrative duties; assist with summer camp responsibilities; and adhere to all rules and regulations of the university, NCAA, and Summit League Conference. Other duties can and may be assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Earned Bachelor’s degree by application date. Minimum of one year collegiate volleyball coaching experience to include graduate assistant or volunteer assistant. Commitment to promote an atmosphere of compliance and adherence to institutional, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. Proven career path. Effective communication (oral, written, and interpersonal) skills. Demonstrated organizational and time management skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree. Proven ability to recruit student-athletes. Division I collegiate coaching experience. Experience with organizing summer camps. Knowledge and adherence to NCAA Division I rules and regulations. Demonstrated fundraising, promotion, and public relations experience.
