The Assistant Coach is a 12-month position that assists the Head Coach in recruiting, coaching and mentoring elite student-athletes for the Women’s Basketball team, and providing administrative and organizational support for the program. Coaching and mentoring duties include assisting in the organization and implementation of the team’s training program and practices; preparation of athletes for competitions; and attending coaching clinics and lectures as assigned by the Head Coach. The Assistant Coach will also participate in recruiting activities including campus and home visits, phone calls, correspondence, evaluations of techniques, etc. The individual will undertake administrative duties to assist in the organization and hosting of competitions, and complete other administrative tasks as assigned by Head Coach.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Human Performance, Human Biology, Sports Management or related field required.
  • Previous experience on a competitive level and coaching experience is preferred.
  • Must possess extensive knowledge of the sport as well as its skills and strategies.
