Job Summary

The Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach supports the Head Women’s Basketball Coach in the administration and daily operation of the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball program. This position assists with practice planning, player development, recruiting, game preparation, and program administration while ensuring compliance with NCAA, Southland Conference, Texas State University System, and Lamar University rules and regulations. The Assistant Coach also contributes to the academic success of student-athletes, assists with community engagement and fundraising efforts, and supports the overall development and graduation of student-athletes.

Essential Job Functions

Program Coaching and Player Development:

  • Assist the Head Coach with planning and conducting practices, skill development sessions, and competition preparation.
  • Provide on-court instruction and evaluation of student-athletes to support athletic performance and team success.
