Student and Campus Life (SCL) inspires transformation in all Cornell students on their journey of individual, academic and personal evolution. Our division is comprised of leading student affairs experts who support our campus on pressing student life matters including public service, health, wellness, social justice, residential living, food services, sports, recreation, career services, and student activities and organizations including sorority and fraternity life. We provide support and services to roughly 25,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students on multiple campuses in the U.S. and abroad.

The Assistant Coach for Women's Fencing assists the head coach in the planning and operation of the Women's Fencing program at Cornell University. This includes assisting with practice and competitions, with preparation as assigned; evaluating student athlete performances; and making recommendations to the head coach regarding individual participation. The Assistant Coach also has recruiting responsibilities, to identify, evaluate, and encourage recruitment of prospective athletes in accordance with Ivy League, NCAA, and University policies. This will include on- and off-campus recruiting responsibilities that have limited travel on a regional (not national or international) focus. The position may instruct physical education classes as assigned.

This position is full-time, 11 months per year. The salary range for the 11-month position is $57,500 to $62,500. This position does not support visa sponsorship.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior coaching or competing experience in a collegiate setting preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of NCAA and Ivy League rules preferred.
  • Credentials should reflect proven success in coaching, recruiting, and working with student athletes.
  • Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.
