The Assistant Coach, Women's Lacrosse at Piedmont University for assisting the Head Coach with organizing and implementing the women's lacrosse program. Work is performed under general supervision and performance is evaluation is based upon completion of assignments and the results obtained.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Apply NowAssist in organizing, supervising, and conducting practices, scrimmages, games, team meetings, team activities, etc.
Organizes and directs individual and small group player development sessions.
Assists with determining game strategy after scouting upcoming opponent and assessing our team and individual skills.
Exhibits sportsmanlike behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, spectators, opponents, and other coaching staffs.
Responsible for organizing recruiting efforts including but not limited to upkeep of
recruiting software, attending games/events to recruit quality student-athletes, maintaining a professional relationship and consistent communication with the recruits throughout the recruiting process.
Assist in all aspects of program planning including spring training trips, road trips, prospect days, prospective student-athlete visits, team building activities, etc.
Coordinates HUDL game film exchange.
Commits to, and is responsible for, adhering to all rules and regulations set forth for the team, the university, the USA South conference, and the NCAA with the utmost integrity.
Work cooperatively with personnel in the athletic department and attends department meetings/activities.
Conduct student-athlete individual academic progress meetings and communicate progress with head coach.
Other relevant duties as assigned.
Regular and predictable attendance is required.
On-site work is required.
Incumbents must remain relevant in the area of employment and flexible to changes in work related to institutional needs.
Typical Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree required.
Experience in coaching women's lacrosse including experience with recruiting. Demonstrated commitment to the development of student athletes in the softball program by building relationships that encourage them academically, socially and athletically.
Licenses and Certification
Valid Georgia Driver’s License (or obtained within 30 days of hire date) and satisfactory MVR.
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of NCAA DIII rules and regulations.
Knowledge of the rules and strategies of lacrosse. This includes, but is not limited to, teaching techniques and coaching strategies necessary for both individual improvements and overall team success.
Good interpersonal skills are also needed for interacting with university departments, students, and prospective student-athletes; requires excellent speaking and writing skills.
Ability to identify student-athletes who will succeed both academically and athletically.
Ability to use Microsoft Products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel regularly and work nonstandard hours and weekends.
Ability to collaboratively and effectively work in a diverse and inclusive environment.**

Environmental, Physical, and Visual Acuity Factors
Incumbents are subject working in both internal and external working conditions where they will be subject to exposure to extreme heat or temperatures above 100 degrees.
Incumbents will perform a medium level of work where they may exert up to 50lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs of force frequently, and up to 10lbs of force constantly. Incumbents must have close visual acuity to operate motor vehicles.
