Job Description

Misericordia University invites applications for the position of Assistant Coach for Women’s Soccer. We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable professional who will work closely with the Head Coach to support all aspects of the program, including player development, practice planning, game preparation, and the recruitment of student‑athletes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to fostering both the academic and athletic success of our student‑athletes while upholding the mission, values, and standards of Misericordia University.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Assist the Head Coach in developing and implementing practice plans, training regimens, and game strategies.
  • Provide instruction and coaching to student-athletes in skill development, game techniques, and overall performance enhancement.
  • Help with the recruitment of prospective student-athletes, including evaluating talent, attending showcases, and communicating with potential recruits and their families.
  • Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and encourage a balance between athletics and academics.
  • Analyze game footage and statistics to provide feedback and assessments to players and coaching staff.
  • Assist in organizing and managing team travel, equipment, and logistics for home and away games.
  • Collaborate with the Head Coach to develop and maintain a positive team culture that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect.
  • Support the promotion of the soccer program through community engagement, fundraising events, and alumni relations.
  • Ensure compliance with NCAA rules and regulations, as well as university policies and procedures.
