Assistant Coach (Women’s Varsity Reserve Basketball)
Apply NowPrinciple duties include serving as the varsity reserve coach to include practice and skill development sessions and will have some responsibilities with the varsity program. Will assist the head coach in scouting, talent assessment and recruiting to reach optimal roster numbers. Will help monitor and support the academic success and retention of student-athletes. Will provide training, direction, and encouragement in preparation of student-athletes in teambuilding, team strategy, and sportsmanship. Will analyze player performance and instruct student athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition. The Assistant Coach will be expected to be a positive role model for student-athletes and have a commitment to the College’s mission and values. Other duties may be assigned by the head coach (i.e. assisting in arranging community service activities for the team, assisting with fundraising, planning of camps, and participating in Champions of Character initiatives). This position is exempt with regard to
FLSA
overtime provisions.

Bachelor’s degree plus coaching experience. Must have knowledge of
NCAA
or
NAIA
(as applicable) rules and regulations.
Must have knowledge of

rules and regulations. Should have the ability to work in an environment where the education, welfare, and graduation of student-athletes receive primary emphasis and be able to work effectively with a diverse student population, many of whom are first generation college students. Prior playing experience is preferred. Strong communication, administrative and organizational skills strongly preferred.
