Job Description

Coaching: Assist with practice planning, including day-to-day organization, communication, and instruction; competitive event preparation to include event day execution, video analysis; timely organization and communication of team travel

Recruiting: Assist in talent identification and evaluation, correspondence, assistance with admission process and

initial eligibility

Assist with budget development and management, including athletic scholarship allocation

Student-athlete development: mentoring to include individual and team dynamics, team rules and conduct, leadership development; commitment to safety and well-being of student-athletes

Academic monitoring of student-athletes: Collaboration with office of compliance and with academic resources available on campus

Compliance: Demonstrating integrity in operations and adhering to all

, and University policies and procedures

Public relations: Regularly scheduled media and speaking engagements; deliberate contact with alumni and supports; effective professional working relationships with student-athletes, staff, administration, alumni, and general public; engagement with youth through camps/clinics, special events, and community service

Fundraising: Assist with developing community support for the program, engage in Department of Athletics events, manage program fundraising activities including special events and camps/clinics

Administrative: Assist with department administration as assigned (i.e., event management, event planning, etc.)

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree

Progressive coaching and/or playing experience

Evidence of strong interpersonal skills and effective communication orally and in writing

Evidence of a valid driver’s license or ability to acquire a legal driver’s license or qualify for a reasonable accommodation

Commitment to the academic success of student-athletes

Evidence of demonstrated ability work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds
