REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Is directly accountable and responsible to the Head Cross Country/Track & Field Coach.
Position Description & Details:
Bismarck State College is seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Cross Country/Track & Field Coach to join our athletics team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cross country and track and field, with the ability to recruit and coach both male and female student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically. This role requires collaboration with the head coach in developing practice plans and traveling to competitions.

Minimum Requirements: - Appropriate bachelor’s degree or high school diploma or GED, and two years of cross-country and track and field coaching experience. - Effective public and interpersonal communication skills. - Knowledge of a specific sport’s concepts/strategies and NJCAA rules and regulations. - Recruiting skills and ability to assess athletic talent. - Leadership and motivational skills, and ability to serve as a positive role model. - Ability to sell the College and its athletic program to potential students. - Ability to organize and implement fundraising projects. - Good computer software skills – Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, etc.), email, and electronic calendar. - Ability to build and sustain a successful intercollegiate athletic program.
Preferred Qualifications: - College coaching experience.
