The College of Saint Benedict Dance Team Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach in mentoring college-aged dancers and fostering a positive and inclusive team environment. This role involves assisting with practices, choreography, and preparing the team for performances and competitions. The Assistant Coach upholds high standards of sportsmanship, provides guidance on technique and strategy, and helps promote personal growth and team success.
This is a part-time, job-share role with three coaches working across multiple teams, collaborating and supporting one another throughout the season. The season runs from June through May, averaging 8–10 hours per week, and this position will support one of the two teams.

The posted wage represents CSB and SJU's good faith estimate of likely compensation at the time of posting. Actual pay will be dependent upon several factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and skills, and may fall outside of the range indicated.
Manage the execution of practices throughout the season and national performances
Attend all game day performances for CSB and SJU athletic events
Attend Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes, supporting their personal and professional growth.
Work with club officers and the Head Dance Coach on policies, fundraising, budgeting, travel, equipment purchases, team webpage updates, and space coordination for practices, competitions, and tryouts.
Foster an enriching and inclusive co-curricular experience for student-athletes, enhancing the College of Saint Benedict’s reputation.
Ensure compliance with all college policies and procedures for club teams as outlined by the Athletic Director
Assist with recruiting efforts for prospective dancers.
Assist with parent relations/communications on behalf of the team.
Assist with the planning of the annual dance show.
Assist with the planning of Dancer for a Day, the annual kids dance clinic.
Attend all captain/leadership team meetings
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Prior experience in dance coaching or significant personal involvement in dance.
Comprehensive knowledge of dance techniques and best practices.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to mentor and support college-aged students, fostering growth and development.
Self-motivated with a focus on achieving results.
Exemplifies sound judgment and maintains strict confidentiality, appropriate for the responsibilities of the role.
A valid driver's license is required. A driver's license check will be conducted, and new hire will be required to complete a defensive driving program.
Ability to complete required safety trainings upon hire (concussion, bloodborne pathogens, etc.)
