Ensures the daily function of operations and services related to any assigned program, initiative, or objective. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Acts as a lead worker; provides functional guidance to lower-level workers including student staff related to events held in assigned facilities. Manages set-up, tear down, monitoring, staffing of official assignments, cash collection, and general oversight of events.

Coordinates daily tasks related to one or more assigned components of overall programs and/or services as assigned.
Regularly communicates with supervisor and other staff, including student workers, as required or needed in the completion of daily tasks in support of overall goals and objectives. Hires, trains, and supervises student employees and graduate assistants.
Prepares and maintains accurate records of daily tasks in accordance with applicable policies and procedures and assures timely communication with supervisor, staff, and students where appropriate.
Gathers data and prepares reports and other information/documentation for supervisory review?related to programs and/or services, or one or more assigned components.
Regularly attends meetings with staff, clients, and students to determine special needs and specifications for conferences and events including set-ups and media equipment; develops, manages, and implements event setups.
Supports staff at all home athletic contests as assigned. Relieves supervisor of routine duties and assists with projects as assigned. Assists at Athletic Department and Penguin Club sponsored events.
Oversees the setup for McKay Auditorium and associated areas, schedules setups and teardowns relative to events scheduled in that space.
Remains informed of current developments and procedures pertinent to duties; participates in staff development activities; attends meetings, conferences, and other events.
Other Functions and Responsibilities: Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to essential functions.
Actively participates in public relations appearances and community services activities on behalf of the Department.
Complies with all NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations, policies, and procedures.
Participates on various University committees and other special assignments.
Assists with or runs NCAA and conference championship events as assigned.
Assists with training new hires.
Performs any and all other related duties as assigned or directed in order to promote, further, and ensure effective and efficient operations that are within the level of responsibility for this classification at the discretion of the supervisor.
Equipment Operated: Computer and all other standard office equipment, scissor lift and boom lift.
Work Schedule: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holiday, and may travel with sport teams.
Supervision Exercised: May exercise supervision over student employees.
Reports to: Manager, Athletic Facilities and Programs
Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: CPR/AED/First Aid certifications to occur after hire; Boom/Scissor Operator Certification to occur after hire; and a valid driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of: university policies and procedures; office practices and procedures; department/division goals and objectives*; department/division policies and procedures*; workplace safety practices and procedures*; English grammar and spelling; records management; office management; project management. Knowledge of NCAA Division I Rules, basic scoreboard operations, and understanding of basic game operations for all sponsored sports.
Skill in: use of office equipment; typing, data entry; computer operation; athletic facility and game operations.
Ability to: deal with problems involving several variables within familiar context; define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; determine material and equipment needs; calculate fractions, decimals, and percentages; compile and prepare reports; use proper research methods to gather data; understand a variety of written and/or verbal communications; prepare accurate documentation; maintain records according to established procedures; effectively interact with personnel and public to answer routine questions; train or instruct others; move quickly and effectively from one task to another; work independently and in a team environment; develop and maintain effective working relationships.

Minimum Qualifications: At least a bachelor’s degree; and one year of work experience or two years of internship/graduate assistantship in athletic-facility and/or event management; and a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications: Athletic field maintenance and/or scoreboard operation experience.
