Responsible for creation, direction and production of all video-related content for the Athletic Department. Working with the Associate Athletics Director for Communications and Strategic Marketing, this position will produce and create video content for the department’s various sports programs, venue video boards, social media, and other multimedia outlets. This position will produce, shoot, and edit videos for multiple platforms in an ever-evolving field of technology.Serve as the athletic department’s primary creator of video content that is used on various social media platforms. Develop, shoot and edit engaging and meaningful content that will help promote Loyola, Greyhounds athletics teams, student-athletes and coaches while working within brand guidelines. Be aware of current trends and methods for creating video content while also developing new ideas to enhance the brand look. Create and produce video highlight and feature packages to promote Loyola athletics. Produce timely highlights following games. Develop concepts for, direct, produce and edit video features relating to the athletic, academic and community service accomplishments of teams, student-athletes and coaches. Work in cooperation with Athletic Communications team members to develop concepts and produce features.Create content for video boards (at Ridley Athletic Complex and in Reitz Arena) to include hype videos, video/motion headshots of student-athletes and video feature content. Collaborate with Loyola Athletic Marketing staff, as well as Van Wagner Sports Enterprises to fulfill sponsored items as it relates to video content. Work with Event Services and Athletics Marketing team for content delivery of created elements on gamedays.Distribute video to external media constituencies, Patriot League, opponents and other entities when requested. Maintain an organized system of cataloging video clips, and an archive of past video clips to preserve for future use. Create system for using cameras and other video equipment with other athletic communications staff members. Serve as primary user and caretaker of athletic communications video equipment. Recommend pieces that should be replaced or upgraded in cooperation with athletic department staff members.Fulfill role as primary content creator for end-of-year athletics banquet that includes highlight videos and other elements to provide atmosphere for the event.Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.
Bachelor’s degree -Video Production, Digital Media, Journalism, Communications1 – 3 years of experienceCandidate must have at least one year of videography skills including lighting, on-location shooting, post-production and shooting/editing of live sporting events.Highly proficient with Adobe Premiere Pro editing, After Effects, Photoshop, and other relevant software to video production and editing.Strong knowledge of current trends in video/creative content for college athletics.Deep understanding of multiple sports.Excellent camera skills across multiple camera types.Able to shoot, edit and compose footage for intro videos, features, hype/pump-up videos, headshots and highlights videos; 3D/2D animations and graphics.Knowledge of a wide variety of video production equipment and lighting.Strong verbal and written communication skillsValues compatible with and supportive of Loyola University Maryland’s mission.
