JOB GOAL

Assists in the coordination of the intercollegiate athletics program and serves as a Head Coach of one of the current offered sports at the college.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assists the Director, Athletics in all aspects of the intercollegiate program.
2. Assists in the supervision and management of the Physical Fitness Center, including scheduling of all classes and events in the facility.
3. Supervises Baseball field, Softball field, and Athletic Field House.
4. Serves as Head Coach for one of the College’s intercollegiate athletic teams.
5. Assists all coaches to set up camps, leagues and showcases for their sports.

1. Assists the Director, Athletics in all aspects of the intercollegiate program.
2. Assists in the supervision and management of the Physical Fitness Center, including scheduling of all classes and events in the facility.
3. Supervises Baseball field, Softball field, and Athletic Field House.
4. Serves as Head Coach for one of the College’s intercollegiate athletic teams.
5. Assists all coaches to set up camps, leagues and showcases for their sports.
6. Assists in preparing budgets for the Athletic Department.
7. Assists in coordinating athletic activities, schedules, athletic scholarships and eligibility reporting.
8. Assists the Director, Athletics in coordinating search committees and recommending the employment of full and part-time athletics staff.

9. Monitors and evaluates the academic performance of student athletes and works with appropriate staff on strategies for improvement and retention.

10. Assists in coordinating the student development program for student athletes.

11. Attends athletic related conference, State, and regional meetings as representative of the College.

12. Provides information to the Director, Athletics regarding needs for athletic facility improvements.

13. Represents the College within the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) and National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA).

14. Demonstrates compliance with the principles of gender equity, ethnic diversity and the FCSAA and NJCAA rules and regulations.

15. Assists in the financial management of the athletic department including fundraising activities to ensure adherence to college policies.

16. Assists the Director, Athletics in coordinating a marketing plan, community, and media related to athletics including social media.

17. Assists in year-end inventory of equipment and supplies.

18. Serves on College committees as assigned.

19. Assists with development and implementing appropriate goals and objectives in the College’s Strategic Plan.

20. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution. Six years of related experience (Athletic Director, Assistant Athletic Director, etc) may susbtitute this requirement.
• Three years of intercollegiate coaching experience in a sport that the College currently offers

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

• Maintain a valid Florida Driver License and satisfactory driving record

• Ability to effectively communication

• Ability to travel as needed

• Experience with basic computer software knowledge and skills

• Skills in social media

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists in the supervision of the Athletics groundskeeper position

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience supervising an athletics program
