The University of South Alabama’s Athletics department is seeking to hire an Assistant Director, Creative Services – Design. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.
Essential Functions
These are the job duties required of the position.
Provides conceptual ideation and creative direction for the Department of Athletics with the goal of developing innovative and visually impactful content that will uniquely promote our student-athletes and positively impact the brand development of the institution. Assists in the planning and execution of the studio shots in all sports. Develops and implements strategic plans applicable to graphic design and other forms of digital content intended to promote the South Alabama Athletics brand, sports programs, and student-athletes. Assists in the development of bold innovative creative assets for internally and externally facing digital and print applications. Manages creative workflows and prioritize a queue of requested work for all sports programs and applicable departmental units. Designs and creates graphics, and brainstorms storylines for use on social media, video boards, website and other public-facing platforms. Collaborates with creative services colleagues and those across other departmental units to develop ideas, plans and content calendars that will ensure department objectives are met. Contributes to the development and implementation of innovative social media strategies for marketing and recruiting. Ensures continuity and integrity of the South Alabama Athletics brand across all platforms. Acts as a leader and mentor to other designers to help them further develop their skills. Monitors best practices and trends in organic and branded creative content. Ensures compliance with all applicable NCAA, Sun Belt Conference, and University rules and regulations. Travels with teams as necessary. Regular and prompt attendance. Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required. Related duties as required.
