This position will be responsible to oversee, create, edit, and direct photography of all varsity sports teams, including marketing and specialty shoots, as well as practice and in-game coverage for use in promoting the Boise State Athletics brand on social media and other platforms.
Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees.
Oversee, create, edit, and direct photography of all varsity sports teams, including marketing and specialty shoots, as well as practice and in-game coverage for use in promoting the Boise State Athletics brand on social media and other platforms.
Manage photography shoots to include proper lighting, and posing of subjects.
Oversee photography coverage of all home athletic competitions.
Properly archive photos for marketing and media relations staff to utilize.
Work with Bronco Sports Properties to assist in any sponsor-related photography elements within social media campaigns.
Create photo initiatives that assist in recruiting fans and players to follow any and all athletic social media content that is produced.
Oversee and execute recruiting photoshoots with perspective student-athletes on their official visits.
Travel to all away football games, and select Olympic sport road events.
Execute and deliver photo elements for the University marketing team.
Help mentor and instruct student workers.
Required to work nights and weekends as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of various photography techniques and lighting styles. Experience in the Adobe Creative Cloud is critical.
A knowledge of computer/server components, both internal and external, and how they work in a controlled network setting.
Knowledge of professional DSLR camera equipment and how to use strobe lighting.
Understand specific software used for the purpose of photography, digitizing, editing and overall manipulation of both practice and game photos for the purpose of marketing and brand building.
This position shall have a knowledge and understanding of all NCAA and conference rules and regulations regarding compliance issues.
Strong people skills in order to staff, organize and train the workforce to communicate and work as an effective team during practice and games with an emphasis on being proper ambassadors both home and away from the university.
Bachelor’s Degree
Two (2) years of professional experience or equivalent relevant experience.
Three (3)-four(4) years experience in college athletics
Mastery of the Adobe Creative Cloud
Experience in both live action photography and studio work
Experience covering a multitude of Olympic sports
Experience in marketing/product photography
Experience in online NIL Platforms like INFLCR
