About the Position:
This role is an on-campus, in-person position.
The position assists with the general operations of the Department of Student-Athlete Success. This department is responsible for several student-athlete events each year, DEI initiatives, Life After Ball, Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, as well as Community Service.
Essential Functions:
Plan and execute all Welcome Back events and Graduation celebrations. Work with coaches, administrators, and campus personnel to carry out plans.
Assist the Director of Student-Athlete Success with the annual awards ceremony, orientations, and community service events. Serve on planning committees. Work with external vendors as needed.
Track all student-athlete programming on HelperHelper. Track NIL education enrollment each semester. Build NIL Education training modules on Opendorse to send bi-weekly.d.
Assist with the overall support of the Life After Ball program including events and career preparation aspects.
Aid in the facilitation of SAAC initiatives and meetings.
Support ongoing office operations, attend regular staff and departmental meetings, and other duties as assigned.
Position requires regular evening and/or weekend work for student athlete events.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree is required. Master's preferred.
A minimum of one year of work experience in an athletics department is required.
Previous work in a student facing role within an athletics department preferred. Experience with career preparation aspects such as resume writing and interview preparation desired.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills.
Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning and time management skills. A strong focus on attention to detail is essential.
Teamworks and/or HelperHelper experience preferred.
