Job Summary
The Assistant Director of Donor Relations and Communications will play an integral role in assisting the Director of Donor Relations and Communications in executing special events, managing donor relations projects, communication, reporting, and general operational procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Implementing and executing all types of donor special events focused on stewardship
Assist with donor stewardship program and planning
Assist with the implementation of the MAC communications strategy.
Produces and manages a social media plan (Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram) and assists with website updates for the Mountaineer Athletic Club and WVU Foundation.
Supports the creation of high-quality and engaging materials such as promotional graphics, programs, membership guides, pamphlets, and appeals.
Assists with the donor acknowledgement process, in partnership with the WVU Foundation Donor Relations teams.
Draft donor acknowledgement language and helps refresh templates annually, providing writing and proofreading support.
Assists with the ordering and fulfillment of benefit programs, sport enhancement funds, annual giving and major donor society programs.
Assists with production, editing, and distribution of documents, reports, and other materials, organizing, ordering, and maintaining an inventory of donor recognition materials and physical resources.
Operational support includes but is not limited to typing, phone calls, data collection, mailings, data entry, data analysis, report generation, graphic design, and meeting support.
Assist with premium seating for football, men’s basketball, and baseball games.
Qualifications

Experience in events, communications and fundraising, preferably in a college athletics setting or the equivalent level of experience in other non-profit or for-profit environments where donor relations is required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and common desktop/web applications.
Proficiency with Adobe products (InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere, etc.) preferred.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and produce high-quality and timely work.
Demonstrated ability to work with others in a collaborative setting.
Knowledge of applicable laws, rules and regulations related to intercollegiate athletics and fundraising.
Education, Experience and Competencies:
Minimum Education Level Required: Baccalaureate
Minimum Experience Level Required: 1 year
