The Athletics Communications Department at NC State University designs, writes, and produces all media guides, news releases, and other printed materials. They report statistics and information to the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) offices and coordinate and respond to all media inquiries.

The Assistant Director of Communications is responsible for creating media awareness, working to extend the brand and message of NC State University Athletics and producing digital publications and publicity.
Primary responsibilities include:
Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or related field.
- Minimum of two years experience in sports information/communications required.
- Must be familiar with applicable desktop publishing programs.

| Other Required Qualifications |
- Ability to adhere to all institution, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Ability and willingness to report all known NCAA violations in accordance with institutional, conference and NCAA policies and guidelines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Experience in social media is helpful, as is experience in branding/marketing.
