The Assistant Director of Compliance is responsible for assisting with the implementation and management of a comprehensive athletics compliance program including enforcement of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable NCAA, Colonial Athletic Association and Hampton University rules and regulations.

Submit institutional request list (IRL) to the NCAA Eligibility Center.
Check the NCAA Eligibility Center for certification reports.
Submit official certification forms to the conference office for required sports.
Work with the certification analyst, financial aid to complete and submit squad lists to Conference office.
Meet with teams to discuss rules education and to complete NCAA required forms.
File student-athlete eligibility forms before the first day of completion.
File international student-athlete forms and student-athlete historical questionnaires.
Monitor official and unofficial visits, playing and practice season activities and countable athletic related activities for each sport.
Conduct rules education with coaches, athletics staff, students, and donors.

Assist with the special assistance fund/student-athlete opportunity fund distribution and reporting.
Monitor temporary certification periods of entering first-year students, recruiting logs and telephone logs.
Assist with monitoring weekly participation rosters.
Assist with documenting and monitoring sexual assault and violence attestations.
Assist with updating and maintaining institutional compliance websites.
Attend NCAA compliance regional seminars and CAA compliance workshops.
Assist with official/unofficial visits, complimentary tickets assignment and distribution
Monitor team and individual award limits, monitor coaches’ camps and clinics, monitor complimentary admissions, monitor awards (Permissible and non-permissible awards), and monitor benefits and promotions.
Other duties as assigned by the Associate Athletics Director for Compliance
Other Functions and Responsibilities:
Contribute to a positive and productive work environment and maintain respectful professional working relationships.
Attends and actively engages in staff meetings, training, professional development experiences, and opportunities, as budget allows
Complies with all NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations, policies, and procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Basic knowledge of the usage of personal computers and standard application software (word processing, spreadsheet and/or database management programs).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Some nights and weekends may be required.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Knowledge of NCAA rules & regulations
Knowledge of NCAA Compliance Assistant and LSDBI
Knowledge of ARMS Compliance software
Knowledge of Banner
Familiarity with commercial compliance tracking software
Must possess strong communications skills, both oral and written
Ability to maintain positive relationships constituencies to provide excellent customer service
Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines
Minimum Qualifications : Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and two years of relevant experience of NCAA compliance, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A valid driver’s license is required.
Preferred Qualifications: A Master’s or JD degree, 1-3 years of NCAA compliance experience within the previous 5 years (internships experience included), and NCAA compliance experience at a NCAA Division 1 institution or conference level is preferred.
Substitution Statement: Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
