Description: The Assistant Director for Marketing and Creative Media (MCM) will provide essential administrative, operational, and creative support to advance the mission and success of King University’s Athletic Communications Office. This position is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and service-driven professional who will support the execution of communication strategies, oversee day-to-day operations, and help with external engagement efforts to build on King University’s athletic branding through the Tornado website and associated social media platforms. The MCM will collaborate closely with the director, coaches, student-athletes, and university staff to promote King Athletics, while upholding the Christian values of the university.

Minimum Qualifications: • Personal faith in Jesus Christ and a strong commitment to the mission of King University. • Bachelor’s degree preferred; associate degree or equivalent experience considered. • 1–3 years of experience in communications, sports information, marketing, or a related field. • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, social media platforms, and basic website management. • Experience with graphic design, photography, or video editing is an asset. • Superior organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. • High level of professionalism, discretion, and interpersonal skills. • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required for athletic events.

Responsibilities: Administrative & Operational Support • Deliver comprehensive daily administrative support to the director, including scheduling, correspondence, and document preparation. • Coordinate logistics for athletic events, press conferences, and community engagement activities. • Maintain accurate records, databases, and archives related to athletic communications, media coverage, and branding initiatives. • Collaborate with various stakeholders on promoting and expanding on the Tornado brand awareness. • Create and drive multimedia views and provide data to demonstrate growth in traffic to Tornado website and socials. • Creatively collaborate to refresh Tornado website as needed. Communications & Media Support • Draft and edit press releases, game notes, and event recaps under the guidance of the Director. • Assist with managing and updating King Athletics’ website and social media platforms, ensuring timely content and consistent branding. • Coordinate photography, videography, and live-streaming needs for athletic events. • Monitor media coverage and prepare reports to highlight King Athletics’ visibility and impact. External Affairs & Engagement • Support the Director in cultivating relationships with media outlets, alumni, donors, and community partners. • Assist with the development of promotional campaigns, marketing materials, and special projects to enhance the visibility of King Athletics. • Represent King Athletics professionally at select events, serving as a welcoming and knowledgeable point of contact. Team & Mission Alignment • Collaborate with coaches, student-athletes, and staff to collect stories and content that celebrate athletic achievements. • Uphold and communicate the Christian mission of King University in all communications and interactions. • Foster a positive, team-oriented culture within the Athletic Communications Office.
