We are currently seeking a full-time and onsite Assistant Director for Mastodon Academic Performance (MAP) Center for our Athletics department. This position assists the academic support and in the development of life skills programing of DI student-athletes.
Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinates the certification of NCAA student-athlete eligibility, as well as any other academic mandated NCAA or institutional academic programing.
Provide direct academic support to approximately half of the athletic teams.
Assists with all functions of the MAP Center, including Eligibility Certification and meeting with potential student athletes during recruiting visits.
Manage a grade check system for all student-athletes.
Coordinate campus new student orientations.
Actively participant in helping to advise the (SALT) Student-Athlete Leadership Team.
Teach the Freshmen Success class geared directly for and toward student-athletes.
Work and collaborate with the greater campus, Academic Affairs and Student Affairs.

Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree.
Three years athletic advising experience.
A strong knowledge/understanding of NCAA DI academics and life skills and experience in athletic academic advising.
Knowledge of current NCAA academic eligibility rules for DI.
Strong communication skills.
This position requires the ability to work occasional nights and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of student development, learning, retention theories and best practices, particularly as they relate to DI student-athletes.
