The Assistant Director for Student-Athlete Success/ provides support to all facets of the academic support service programs and student-athlete development initiatives for 23 varsity sports teams, including but not limited to, advising on academic matters, academic support, academic coaching, providing educational programs, scheduling and monitoring study hall sessions, academic progress, degree completion, leadership education, community engagement, and student-athlete involvement. This position reports to the Sr. Associate AD for Student-Athlete Success/SWA.
Primary Responsibilities:
Academic Support: Manage caseload of at-risk student-athletes to develop academic improvement plans and monitor progress. Meet with students on a regular basis to provide academic support in the areas of resource connection, time management, study skills, test taking, and organization. Assist students with course schedule adjustments during add/drop, withdrawal, and course registration periods. Evaluate the midterm grade reports and provide outreach to students needing assistance. Assist with end of semester grade reports. Communicate with the Advising Office, Academic Resource Hub, and Faculty regarding student issues. Participate inrecruiting events as needed.

Assist with the coordination of the Peer Mentor Program including the hiring process and training for new mentors.
Oversee the Study Flex program via the TracCloud software and send detailed weekly reports to coaches regarding student-athlete hours and academic progress.
Student-Athlete Development: Provide direct oversight of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council and serve as the Patriot League SAAC Liaison. Assist with all aspects of the Oaks Leadership Academy. Help with the
coordination of community service events, DEI initiatives, and other student-athlete experience events. Execute the weekly Leopards Update that serves as the student-athlete newsletter. Communicate and liaise with various campus offices to promote student-athlete involvement such as the Gateway Career Center, Student
Involvement, and Landis Center.
Assist with the planning and execution of events such as New Student-Athlete Orientation, Welcome Back Picnic, Dean’s List Recognition Night, Faculty All-Stars, and PARDees.
Serve on campus committees as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Sport Administration or related field required. 1-2 years experience in an Athletic Academic office on a college campus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills along with knowledge of Google Workspace for Education and Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of NCAA and Patriot League rules and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Sport Administration, or related field preferred with at least 2 years of experience working with Student-Athletes at a Division I institution.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to cultivate relationships with students, faculty, and staff and be passionate about the student-athlete experience. Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Excellent verbal/written communication skills. Computer/Technological skills, able to work with a diverse group of people with various backgrounds, education levels, and cultural differences. Knowledge of ARMS, Degree Works, TracCloud, Canva, NCAA and Patriot League rules and regulations. Must be able to work nights and weekends.
