Eight years of experience in athletics marketing and promotions or fan engagement experience in collegiate or professional athletics or related professional experience or in a related field. One year of experience supervising full-time employees. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Assists the Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Branding in implementing marketing, promotions, and ticketing programs for the Department of Athletics through the Sam Houston State University Integrated Marketing Communications Division.
Responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing plans for the Department of Athletics through Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) – Athletics External Engagement to enhance marketing, promotional, fan experience, and sales efforts. Fosters innovative and collaborative efforts to engage students, staff, alumni, supporters, and prospective fans. This includes comprehensive plans for social media, advertising, and promotional planning.Develops, manages and executes comprehensive marketing plans for fan engagement to increase awareness, attendance, and revenue; work collaboratively with ticketing operations on sales plans for the season, single game, and group sales; coordinate promotions between athletics marketing, ticketing, Van Wagner College, and sports teams. Works closely and collaboratively with campus partners for student, faculty, and staff engagement for home athletics events and promotions. Coordinates digital advertising, communication (Paciolan), and social media strategies to engage fans and students to build the Bearkat Athletics brand. Prepares and executes detailed game scripts and presentations to direct music, video content, public address, spirit, band, on field promotions, and other resources to create a high-quality fan experience. Coordinates efforts for community outreach and grassroots engagement to create excitement for Bearkat Athletics. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of Sam Houston State University, the Integrated Marketing Communications Division, and the Department of Athletics. Adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, Conference USA, and the NCAA. Experience in Division I Athletics preferred. In addition to regular office hours, this position requires evening and weekend work based on games and athletic events scheduled. This position may be designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).Up to 20% of this position, over the fiscal year during off-peak periods, may be performed remotely as determined by the supervisor.
