The Assistant Director / Marketing & Fan Development supports the Virginia Tech Athletics Brand Advancement team by overseeing the implementation and management of marketing strategies to drive attendance, promotion, and engagement of athletic events, as well as increase the overall visibility of Virginia Tech Athletics. Duties will include development and implementation of marketing plans for select sports, fan experience initiatives and enhancement of fan engagement with Virginia Tech Athletics. In addition, individual will work collaboratively with internal units including but not limited to In-Venue Experience, Ticket Sales, Digital Strategy & Innovation and Creative. Reports to the Assistant Athletic Director / Marketing & Fan Development.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field with experience working in a marketing and fan development atmosphere or a master's degree.
Experience developing marketing plans; taking marketing plans from ideation through execution.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly to develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions; strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
Commitment to diversity.
Knowledge of appropriate NCAA, conference and university rules and regulations as it pertains to area of responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in marketing or a related field.
