Summary:
The responsibilities of the job are to assist with all phases of managing men’s ice hockey operations. This position oversees the logistics of monitoring hockey operations, including recruiting and compliance issues, day-to-day video inventory which is a major component in preparation for the team, and game and ice scheduling. Furthermore, the position provides our program with a liaison for our alumni, donors and Friends of NU Hockey group, which all play a major role in fundraising efforts and event coordination. An added responsibility is to meet with vendors to remain constantly aware of the latest video technology while making recommendations to head coaches for purchase of new software. Perform cost analysis of the software when determining the best system/vendor to use. This position would also be responsible for coordinating the hockey summer clinic that would include building attendance for the clinic, coordinating lesson plans, securing coaches, ice time, jerseys, etc.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required with either 4 years’ experience as a player at the Division 1 level or 3 years’ experience in hockey operations; strong organizational skills, good technical skills that are applicable to computers, digital video, video editing, and creating databases. Person must be willing to travel and work on weekends and nights for the entire hockey season (6 months).
