Assistant Director of Athletic Communications
Required Qualification (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Two (2) years of full time experience working in an Athletic Communications/Sports Information/Media Relations office (collegiate or professional), sports journalism, and/or marketing and promotions environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Experience with athletic game operations as it relates to PR/Communications/Media/etc. Experience with multi-media platforms and/or statistical software. Previous experience with a Division I Athletic Program.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Assistant Director of Athletic Communications is responsible for the overall communication of athletic department news, intercollegiate contest results, team/department accomplishments and all other athletic department related information by initiating and cultivating relationships with local, regional, and national print and electronic media outlets to increase public awareness of their assigned sport programs. The assistant director is independently responsible for the game management & multi-media efforts (department website; television shows; play by play or color commentary duties for radio broadcasts; coordination of web-casting/video-streaming of intercollegiate contests) as well as the creation and production of press releases, media guides, feature stories, and other communication related duties for each sport program they are assigned. Other duties as assigned by the Deputy AD.

The Assistant is responsible for the management and supervision of courtside and press box personnel at home contests of assigned sport programs, to include but not limited to:
Create, produce and write post-game release for dispersal to local, regional and national media outlets
Media Contact
Graphic Design
Publications Development
Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.
Special Notes:
This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
In addition to the employee's base salary, this position is eligible for $3,400 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly.
Evening and weekend work will be required at times.
