Catawba College (Salisbury, N.C.), a member of NCAA Division II and South Atlantic Conference (SAC), is searching for a qualified candidate to fill its Assistant Director of Athletic Communications position. A new role within the Catawba Athletic Communications office, the position will assist in publishing and promoting Catawba’s 24 intercollegiate sports, including recording and maintaining statistical records, managing the Athletics website, drafting and publishing press releases and recaps, producing and distributing visual graphic content to Catawba-branded social media platforms and ensuring home Athletics events are properly staffed and prepared for a high-level gameday environment. The candidate will serve as a liaison between Catawba Athletics and its SAC, NCAA Division II and local media correspondents. The position places an emphasis on increasing the visibility and production quality of Catawba’s athletic programs, student-athletes, coaches, alumni and fans. Working evenings and weekends is required.

ABOUT CATAWBA:
Founded in 1851 in Newton, North Carolina, Catawba was started by German pioneers who had traveled from eastern Pennsylvania to settle in the valleys of the Haw, Yadkin, and Catawba Rivers. In 1890, Catawba became a coeducational institution and the first woman graduate completed her studies in 1893. In 1925, Catawba moved and re-opened to its current location in Salisbury, NC, which is about 45 minutes from Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and Charlotte, two hours from the mountains, and four hours from the beaches.
Today, Catawba College has 41 buildings on 276 wooded acres on a residential campus. Catawba is known for its 189 acre on-campus ecological preserve.
