The successful candidate, a key member of the department, will assist the director of athletic communications with all aspects of a robust and progressive athletic communications strategy.
To successfully accomplish the goals of this position, the assistant director of athletic communications will:
Serve as the primary contact for women’s basketball and several other sports to be determined by the strengths of the selected candidate relative to staff.
Write press releases, game preview and recap stories, and feature articles.
Produce website, print, and social media content.
Travel with teams.
May contribute in roles on project teams and working groups within the Communications Division and Athletic Department.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of experience in athletic communications or related fields. Advanced computer skills (photo editing, video editing, graphic design, in-game statistical software, etc.) with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite required. Ability to handle several tasks at once while meeting deadlines is a must. Emphasis on strong writing and communications skills with a background in public relations or related fields preferred.
