As a proud member of the Northeast-10 Conference and NCAA Division II, Franklin Pierce University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month position as the Assistant Director of Communications. In this role, you will be working and assisting the Assistant Athletic Director/Communications Director with all aspects of publicity, statistical operations and external operations for the Department of Athletics and its 24 intercollegiate sports.

Serving as the primary contact for your assigned multiple sports, you will be responsible for writing press releases, managing social media and website content, and supervising gameday press box operations.

Other things that you will be do:

• Work closely with the other key Athletics personnel on planning and executing department-wide social media strategy.
• Collaborate and participate in special events planning and execution.
• Assist with supervision of the Athletic Communication student staff.
• Serve on departmental and other University committees.

Skills and Qualifications:

In this role, the skills and qualifications that you possess will include:

• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with a master’s degree preferred.
• Two years (2) of experience in intercollegiate athletic communication, or a similar field.
• A knowledge of both NCAA and Northeast-10 Conference rules and regulations.
• Proficiency in web content management systems, Adobe Creative Suite and sport statistical software.
• A valid driver’s license.
• An ability to travel for the University both locally and nationally, when required.
• Ability to successfully complete a background check

Due to the nature of this exempt position, you will be required to work nights, weekends and during the holidays, as dictated by team schedules.
