Expired Date: Sep 24, 2024The Assistant Director of Athletic Communications assists with the development, implementation, and management of a comprehensive public relations strategy including media outlets, social media, website management, photography, video collection, and live streaming to provide exposure to Florida Tech's varsity athletic teams. This role will support the University’s mission of providing high-quality education to a culturally diverse student body to prepare students for entering the global workforce, seeking higher-education opportunities, and serving within their communities, and Florida Tech athletics mission of developing diverse athletes into scholars, champions, and leaders prepared to become global influencers in their relentless pursuit of greatness. Florida Institute of Technology is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II and the Sunshine State Conference (SSC).
Assists with the operations of the athletic communications department (social media content, feature writing, and managing/updating FloridaTechSports.com), and managing all academic, competition, community engagement content, and all event management tasks for sports covered in adhering to all athletic and University policies and protocols, use of all athletic and university software and technology systems, documentation, travel arrangements, equipment/supplies, maintenance, orders, and community service.
Creation and implementation of the public relations plan for each assigned sport, production of athletic department printed and digital assets, and collaboration with the Director and Assistant Director for Athletic Partnerships & Promotions in developing event scripts, public address announcements, etc.
Assist with the development and coordination of photography (headshots, team and action, headshots, and community engagement) and live event video streaming and video content production (including the end-of-year athletic awards event).
Assist with the coordination and compilation of all record books and other historical data for sports covered including the oversight of maintaining accurate inputting of statistics utilizing approved NCAA software, distribution of official stats to coaches, opponents, Sunshine State Conference, NCAA, and other required services (including the nomination of scholar- athletes, coaches, and teams for weekly, pre/postseason academic, and athletic awards).

Annual Security & Fire Safety Report
The federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) requires colleges and universities, both public and private, participating in federal student aid programs to disclose campus safety information, and imposes certain basic requirements for handling incidents of sexual violence and emergency situations.
Florida Tech’s 2023Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Florida Tech; and on public properly within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus.
The numbers provided include crime statistics that were reported to local law enforcement agencies, campus security and other Campus Security Authorities.
The report also includes institutional policy statements regarding campus safety and security measures; descriptions of prevention and awareness programs; related university procedures and important guidance; and other essential safety information.

Official Transcripts
Official transcripts of all collegiate work must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Office of Human Resources prior to the first day of employment.
