POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Director of Athletic Creative Video is responsible for overseeing the creation and production of video content for an athletic department. This role involves managing a team of
videographers and editors, coordinating video shoots, and editing footage to create engaging content for various platforms such as social media, websites, and in-game presentations. The Assistant Director works closely with coaches, athletes, and other staff members to ensure that the video content aligns with the department's branding and marketing goals. Additionally, they may be responsible for managing equipment, budgeting, and staying up to date with industry trends and best practices in video production. May be required to work non-traditional work hours in the evenings and/or weekends as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates the production of video highlight packages for assigned sports. Deliver videos that uniquely and creatively engage audiences, including prospective student-athletes, that are utilized as a promotional tool for USF Athletics. Collaborates to create concepts, plan production and produce media. Edits, produces and makes copies of athletic video for uplinks/satellite feeds, music videos, short story video packages.
Films assigned athletic events inclusive of during practices, games and athletic events. Conceptualizes and designs videotaping plan with regard to camera positions and assignments. Prepares for transportation of equipment to athletic events. Generates edited content and distributes to the appropriate personnel following an event. Label all footage utilizing the department standards to maintain archives of past athletic events.
Oversees the production of video content for in-venue video boards of assigned sports. Serves as the primary content creator for in-venue production team. Creates hype videos, highlights and digital motion video graphics for video boards and supporting technologies.
Performs routine maintenance on equipment (troubleshooting and maintenance of video equipment for on and off-site athletic events). Maintains computer files and software and performs routine maintenance on equipment. Performs upgrades, troubleshooting, software configuration and problem resolution with external technical service providers.
Researches and assesses new videographic methods and technology, while making recommendations for new equipment and process enhancements, as appropriate. Stays up-to-date on industry trends and technologies to ensure that USF Athletics remains at the forefront of the digital media landscape.
Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience in a related field.
FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
PREFERRED:
Bachelor's degree and two years experience working in college athletics or professional sports. Strong working knowledge and demonstrated experience with video production. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of Adobe software
