Position Summary:
As part of the athletics senior management team, the Assistant Athletics Director position will provide direction
and oversite for broadcast production, game day operations, student employment, and CACC/NCAA hosted
tournaments. They will also serve as assistant sports information director for specific sports. The position works
closely with administrators from various GCU offices (Security, Catering, and Special Events). Other
administrative assignments will also be included in the position. The position reports directly to the Direcotr of
Athletics and will serve on their leadership team. In all areas of the position, exemplify the Mercy Core Values

Essential Functions:
Event Management (50%)
Manage the broadcast production including set-up, troubleshooting, broadcasting, and all activities
surrounding the web stream.
Lead administrator for all conference and NCAA tournaments at GCU.
Scheduling/supervising of event staff and event set up and breakdown, training & managing of work-
study and GCU staff for game day operations.
Coordinate and manage department special events
Sport Communications (30%)
Serve as assistant SID with selected sports (Genuis and/or Presto Sports statistics)
Assist with social media platforms
Assist with training of student-staff on statistics programs for in-game management
Assist with development of interns and volunteer staff
Administration (20%)
Engage in strategic planning with administrative team to enhance and strengthen the department to
achieve program goals
Review department policies and practices to identify opportunities and implement procedures to
enhance department operations
Assist and participate in department search and hiring processes
Scheduling/supervising of student-workers and staff of the fitness center
Serve as an athletic department resource and liaison to the campus community including serving on
campus committees as appropriate
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree required, master's preferred
3-5 years of experience working in collegiate athletic environment (Div II preferred) Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented
Flexible hours including some nights and weekends
Strong ability to communicate both orally & in writing with multiple stakeholders (administrators, student-athletes, alums, community partners, coaches, etc.)
Technologically proficient and adaptable to new technology; social media proficiency
Statistical software knowledge preferred
Knowledge of NCAA Division II compliance within the areas of the position
Willingness to embrace the Mercy Core Values or Respect, Integrity, Justice, Compassion and Service.
