Assistant Director of Athletics Compliance

Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Two (2) years of full time experience in a compliance setting in athletics, higher education, legal profession or other industry.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Understanding of NCAA Compliance Rules (played a Division I, II or III sport, coached in collegiate athletics or as a staff member in a collegiate athletic program). Experience in a NCAA Compliance role at the NCAA, Conference Office or institution. Experience with NCAA Compliance Assistance software. Experience using ARMS Software. Experience working with Admissions and/or Financial Aid Office staff.

Brief Descriptions of Duties:
The Assistant Director of Athletics Compliance will directly assist the Director of Athletics Compliance in the operations of the compliance office. In his/her position as the Assistant Director, he/she will participate in the reviewing, monitoring and reporting of student-athlete eligibility as well as oversee the monitoring of all recruiting activities. Additionally, he/she will provide interpretations, updates on NCAA legislation and rules education to the various athletic department constituencies .

Student-Athlete Eligibility

  • Support the Director of Athletics Compliance with reviewing and certifying initial, transfer and continuing eligibility for student-athletes on an annual basis. Continuously update NCAA Eligibility Center IRL lists and monitor student-athlete academic and amateurism eligibility. Resolve issues with completing eligibility center tasks. Assist with preliminary transfer evaluations including progress toward degree and seasons of competition used. Help maintain the transfer portal database by inputting student-athletes and updating transfer tracers. Ensure completion of annual beginning of year compliance forms by all student-athletes. Work with the Director of Athletics Compliance, Academic Advisors and the Registrar’s Office to complete the end of semester student-athlete certification process.
