Brief Descriptions of Duties:
The Assistant Director of Athletics Compliance will directly assist the Director of Athletics Compliance in the operations of the compliance office. In his/her position as the Assistant Director, he/she will participate in the reviewing, monitoring and reporting of student-athlete eligibility as well as oversee the monitoring of all recruiting activities. Additionally, he/she will provide interpretations, updates on NCAA legislation and rules education to the various athletic department constituencies .

Student-Athlete Eligibility

• Support the Director of Athletics Compliance with reviewing and certifying initial, transfer and continuing eligibility for student-athletes on an annual basis. Continuously update NCAA Eligibility Center IRL lists and monitor student-athlete academic and amateurism eligibility. Resolve issues with completing eligibility center tasks. Assist with preliminary transfer evaluations including progress toward degree and seasons of competition used. Help maintain the transfer portal database by inputting student-athletes and updating transfer tracers. Ensure completion of annual beginning of year compliance forms by all student-athletes. Work with the Director of Athletics Compliance, Academic Advisors and the Registrar’s Office to complete the end of semester student-athlete certification process.

Monitoring Recruiting Activities

• Assist with monitoring the recruitment contacts and evaluations of all head and assistant coaches via the appropriate recruiting software. Collect and audit required paperwork for official and unofficial visits both prior to and following the conclusion of such trips. Provide recruiting education to head and assistant coaches as new legislation is adopted. Manage the approval process for complimentary admissions and institutional/non-institutional camps and clinics.

Education

• Assist with providing ongoing rules education to student-athletes, coaches and administration including updates on NCAA legislation and the creation and distribution of a monthly compliance newsletter.

NIL

• Provide assistance with NIL(Name, Image and Likeness) including educating coaches, administrative staff, student-athletes and external constituents. Monitor disclosure of NIL deals.

Reporting

• Support the Director of Athletics Compliance with gathering information and documents when investigating potential infractions, coordinating eligibility waivers, and submitting appeals to the appropriate conference and/or NCAA office. Monitor countable athletically related activities via Teamworks software. Help with annual APR, GSR and Sport Sponsorship reports.

Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.

Special Notes:
This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Non Exempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.

In addition to the employee's base salary, this position is eligible for $3,400 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly.

Evening and weekend work will be required at times.
