The Colorado State University Department of Athletics sponsors 16 men’s and women’s intercollegiate sports and competes as a member of the
NCAA

Under the direction of the Director of Athletics Digital Media, the Assistant Director of Athletics Digital Media is responsible for creating content, designing materials, and managing the strategic distribution of content through assigned Athletic Department social media platforms, websites, and digital marketing outreach. The Assistant Director helps to implement the Director’s social media strategy across all departmental and team channels. Content creation focuses on increasing fan engagement and affinity; supporting revenue generation efforts (e.g., ticket sales, donations, merchandise sales); sharing department stories externally; and enhancing the overall
CSU
Athletics brand. The Assistant Director is also an integral piece of the department’s management team for CSURams.com as well as the e-mail marketing platform.
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in marketing, management, business, recreation, advertising, communications, journalism, creative design, liberal arts or any other field related to duties and responsibilities
Minimum of two years of marketing or communications experience required, preferably in intercollegiate athletics
Demonstrated professional experience in multimedia asset creation for social media distribution (photography, videography, graphic design, writing, editing, etc.).
Experience using Adobe Creative Suite to create and edit visual media required.
Creative and artistic ability, particularly as relates to social media.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work on projects individually as well as within a team.
Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
Proficiency with technology and social media.
Ability to provide leadership, training and guidance to other department staff and students.
Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license or access to a licensed driver by the employment start date.
Photography experience with live sporting events or other live events.
Live college athletic or professional sports social media management experience.
Experience updating websites with knowledge of basic
HTML
.
Experience in direct-to-consumer e-mail marketing and social re-targeting.

- Create purposeful, artistic and engaging content
- Monitor fan responses (e.g. likes, comments, shares, etc.) and interact accordingly, driving conversation and engagement
- Supervise and advise on other accounts social media accounts, (coaches, sports, staff, etc.) throughout the department; provide content and advice on best practices; offer technical training when needed
- Assist in the planning and production process of social media content for internal and external audiences
- Generate regular analytics and status reports on social and digital media accounts as well as the department website to provide to department leadership
- Collaborate with assigned staff members in communications, marketing, and sports in the maintenance and operation of the department’s social media campaigns

- Assist with the training and mentoring of hourly employees and volunteers
- Assist Director of Athletics Digital Media with ensuring unit is an inclusive environment for staff and continuously strive for inclusive excellence and meeting department’s guiding principles.
- Help maintain the scheduled rhythm of marketing e-mails including but not exclusive to weekly updates, gameday information, and postgame recap
- Ensure compliance with all departmental, University, conference and NCAA procedures, rules and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned.
