The mission of Princeton University Department of Athletics is to strive for excellence in academics and athletics, while embracing equity in opportunity, good sportsmanship, and ethical conduct.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Athletics for Facilities, the primary role of the Assistant Director of Athletics, Meadows Campus Sports Complex is to serve as the manager of the daily operations of the Meadows Campus Sports Complex. The Meadows Campus Sports Complex includes a 180,000 square foot Racket Center (Tennis, Squash, Fitness, and a large Special Event Space), a softball stadium, baseball stadium, Rugby complex, and a cross country course. The Assistant Director of Athletics manages the usage of these facilities, coordinates facility needs, integrates with University Departments such as Public Safety, Building Services, Facilities, Risk Management, and Conference and Event Services. This position will also oversee special projects, renovations, and facility upgrades for the Meadows Campus athletic facilities.
o Direct oversight of the full-time Meadows Campus Athletic Facilities Operations Manager and the Evening Supervisor
o Hire, train, schedule, evaluate, pay and supervise all Athletic Building Monitors
o Manage schedules for the squash and tennis courts, the convening and special event space, and assist as the department EMS scheduler when the primary scheduler is out of the office.
o Respond to the daily needs of the sports complex with the understanding that duties will vary by season.
o Manage access control systems which include electronic locks and key locks. Develop and maintain a database for tracking access and key assignments.
o Supervise the use of the facilities and develop and enforces all building policies.
o Oversee facility security, ensure facilities are locked when appropriate, and coordinate with the Department of Public Safety when necessary.
o Maintain risk management and safety standards for the facility and take corrective action where appropriate.
o Responsible for mailroom & package room upkeep, package stock, deliveries, notifications & purchasing of building supplies.
o Responsible for the upkeep of all facility areas including locker rooms and coordinating needs with Building Services.
o Perform routine inspections of outdoor facilities and ensure usage is scheduled and approved.
o Perform routine checks of all areas of the Meadows Campus sports complex and coordinate routine maintenance repairs with Facilities.
o Ensure equipment and supplies are cleaned up and properly stored after use.
o Communicate with building services for all custodial needs.
o Develop a comprehensive understanding of all building technology including scoreboards, video boards, PA systems, etc. in order to troubleshoot, repair and replace/upgrade equipment as necessary.
o Coordinate and assist with the Athletic Facility Crew with routine set up for various events including tarp coverage and equipment/supply movement and setup.
o Work with the coaching staff to ensure that program needs are met within the competition areas, offices, and locker rooms. Assist with renovations, furniture procurement, and other special projects within the facilities.
o Event Manager oversight for all squash and tennis events as well as other events as assigned by the Associate Director of Athletics for Event Operations.
o Coordinate event set up, assist visiting teams and officials, supervise assigned event staff, and coordinate coach’s needs for events.
o Manage all special events held within the Racquet Center convening space. This includes scheduling, coordination of setup, coverage of the event, and integration with other University Departments to ensure needs such as janitorial, security, audio visual, etc. are covered.
o Adhere to Ivy League, ECAC, EIVA, EIWA and NCAA rules and regulations.
o Administration of all Meadows Campus rental groups
o Schedule rental groups and ensure that an executed contract and approved insurance is on file.
o Track usage, invoice, and receive payments for facility use.

• Ability to perform functions with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments and changing priorities
• Exercise good judgment and problem-solving skills essential
• A high degree of proficiency for writing and communication skills is essential to the success in this job
• Strong technical abilities.
• Work irregular work hours including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
• First Aid, CPR & AED certifications
Preferred:
• Experience managing rental groups.
• Experience in event management.
• Experience with payroll.
• Experience in developing personnel pools for various hourly positions.
• Computer knowledge including Excel, PhotoShop, Illustrator and Publisher.
• Experience with EMS Scheduling
