Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Finance and Administration, the Assistant Director of Athletics for Business Operations is responsible for ensuring the department’s success as directly related to the planning, formulation, and management of all functions related to financial and administrative processes of the department in addition to assisting with budget preparation and monitoring. All staff members are responsible for the policy, procedures, and guidelines of Hofstra University and the job requirements specific to the assignments inherent to athletic administration. This position requires working weekends and holidays and attending athletic events as appropriate. Candidates must be willing and able to organize and handle all aspects of administration and adhere to the rules and regulations of Hofstra University, the Colonial Athletic Association, and the NCAA. Responsible for knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. If found responsible for a violation of NCAA regulations, will be subject to disciplinary or corrective action, including termination if appropriate. Also, may be responsible for any act or omission that may give rise to a finding that the University has violated an NCAA regulation.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provides direction and develops systems to effectively administrate the financial operations of the department as it relates to procurement of hotels and transportation for team travel. Directs the systems for cash advances and cash advance settlements, equipment purchases and purchase requisitions, and check payment requisitions. Constructs, manages, and maintains contest contracts for all teams. Reviews athletic department expenditures as directed by the Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Finance and Administration. Assists with monitoring the financial performance of each area within our department and initiate corrective actions when necessary to minimize impact at year-end. Assists with all day-to-day internal aspects of the Athletic Department Business Office. Adheres to and enforces all policies and procedures of Hofstra University, Hofstra Athletic Department, CAA, EIWA, and NCAA. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Finance and Administration and the Vice President and Director of Athletics.
Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum 1 to 3 years of relevant athletic department experience.
Master’s degree preferred.

_Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.
